Art & Creative Writing Workshop for High School Students

Thursdays, January 29 - March 5

6- 7 p.m.

 

RAFFMA will host a six-week creative writing workshop for high school students. The workshop will use artwork on display at the museum and digital images of artworks as a starting point for practicing and strengthening critical thinking and improving writing skills. The writing exercises and assignments will take place in and out of the classroom with instructor and peer critiques in class.

Advance registration is recommended. Please return registration form and $20 workshop fee to the
museum front desk or mail it to:

Join us for this art history lecture featuring Peter Frank- art critic, curator, and poet who is based in Los Angeles.

This art history lecture will be more of an analytical pep talk about the fact that artists no longer need to worry about New York to "stay in the game." The discussion will be sociological rather than art-historic. Mr. Frank will speak for about 30 minutes and then open up the discussion to the audience.

Evening with Mummy

Friday, May 8, 2015

Celebrate Mother's Day at RAFFMA from 6-7:30 p.m. At Evening with Mummy, families will get a chance to express their love for mum in an Egyptian fashion. Children will create Egyptian inspired Mummy’s Day cards, and moms will be treated as the Queen of the Nile with Egyptian inspired treats and tea.

International Museum Day is a celebration that is held worldwide each year on or around May 18th. From America and Oceania to Europe, Asia and Africa, International Museum Day aims to increase public awareness about the role of museums in the development of society.
